We know we are on the right track when 1) we’re scared about something new that we’re doing and 2) when we’re doing something our parents wouldn’t understand.
Parents are all about safety, “do what we did… we know best…”
Do they though?
The older I get, the more I realize that my parents are normal fallible people, just like me. They tried things and failed so they tell you not to do those things. They tried things and succeeded so they encourage you towards those things. Anything strange or unfamiliar is treated with suspicion.
What are you thinking about doing? Does it scare you? Would your parents think it’s weird?
